Meeting Love. Again.

I wasn’t lying when I said
That a date sounded like fun.
I wasn’t lying when I thought
That at least for right now
Love had to be out of the question.

I just hadn’t seen Love yet.
See, I imagined Love as pain
Just as she was all those months ago.
But Love has grown,
Love has changed,
And Love is not gentle any longer.

Love has new songs
That she likes to sing
And new shades of pink
That her tones paint in the moonlight.

But Love is still patient,
Love is still kind,
And I think
That I still love Love. Maybe.
